Jessa Seewald is officially a mother of 4! Jessa and her husband Ben welcomed a sweet baby girl a few days ago. This was Jessa’s first hospital birth, and based on her Youtube video, it looks like she had an epidural this time. Jessa was accompanied during the birth by Ben, Michelle Duggar, and her doula.
Here are four interesting facts about Jessa’s birth story:
4 – Michelle cut the new baby’s umbilical cord. That’s right, mama Duggar stepped in to cut the cord because Ben preferred to stay at Jessa’s head. Based on the Youtube video, Ben seemed a bit nervous.
3 – Jessa and Ben knew the gender of the baby, but kept it secret from the whole family until the baby was born. In a prior ultrasound video, Jessa was told the gender of the baby but had such a poker face that it was impossible to guess.
2- Jessa’s first epidural failed and she got a second one. In a prior Q&A Jessa had mentioned that she may try an epidural this time.
1 – Ben and Jessa weren’t exactly in perfect agreement on their name picks, but ultimately they chose the name Fern. Welcome to the world Fern Seewald! Jessa sure likes the most unique names, and it will go perfectly with big sister Ivy’s name. Ivy and Fern, very botanical.
